Eagle's Office

I looked through this week's mission reports and sighed. Too much work that had to be done. I checked the computer and looked at last week's casualties. Great, more things to stress about. I sat back in my chair and debated about taking a break soon.

I walk in, holding a lit cigarette. "Hey Steph. Any news?"

I rolled my eyes. "Yes, Lila. And pleased refrain from calling my Steph. It's improfessional and hardly necessary."

"And I care why?" I take a puff from the cigarette. "Just tell me the news."

I rubbed my temples. "Fine. Ten went down in Chicago after an aerial blow. I'm thinking sending out a few rookies to Japan for practice. And I am still not able to hack into the Tenara base."

I nod. "Damn." I sigh and take in another puff.

I frowned and fanned the smoke away, opening a window. "Please no smoking in my office."

"Oh yeah, sorry." I smash it out on an ashtray.

I reached underneath my desk and pulled out two small glass cups and my bottle of Vodka since I can't get drunk anyways. I poured us each a half glass and handed her a cup. I took a small sip. "Do you have any new recruits?" I asked.

I take the cup and take a sip. "Not really." I shake my head.

I took another large gulp. "We should have Stark coming soon, but who knows how long that'll take."

I nod and take another swig. "Knowing him, it'll be ages before he appears."

"Exactly." I rubbed my eyes and looked at my computer screen. "Looks like we're getting a Wayne, too."

"Oh great. A pompous rich kid. Just what we needed."

"Interesting." I finished the glass off and looked at the nearly full bottle. I took the rest to the head.

"Very." I finish off my glass.

I wiped my mouth with a napkin and sat back. "Get ready for hell. This should be fun."
